Overview:

This position is responsible for providing technology support for the administration, faculty, staff, and students of The Cathedral School. The Technology Support Specialist will report directly to and will work regularly with the IT Manager and CFO.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum three years in LAN administration experience in Macintosh platform, Mac-based applications.
  • Should have experience to work with jamf.
  • Prior experience in an educational setting.
  • Ability to be flexible with weekly schedule on occasion, which may include working evenings and/or weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide help desk support for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Provide training for administrators and staff.
  • Assist with A/V setup as needed for school assemblies, faculty/committee meetings, and special events.
  • Work with the IT Manager to update the Technology plan for the school.
  • Assist with general school functions as needed.

Software and Macintosh Support:

  • Software application installation and updates on iPads.
  • Suport for setting up user accounts on our Whipple Hill website.
  • Manage multiple OSX 10.11 and 10.12 servers using standard Apple server admin tools, including Mac OS X servers with Home Directories.
  • management and preference enforcement.
  • Installation, troubleshooting of problems with computers, software, network, and peripheral equipment.
  • G Suite support as needed.

Hardware and Network Maintenance:

  • Basic hardware repairs for warranty and out-of-warranty systems and printers.
  • Wired and Wireless network management.
  • Maintain A/V equipment, including digital projectors and Smartboards.
  • Document network systems, operational procedures, and network topology.
  • Maintain equipment for load (inventory, repair, distribution, and returns).
  • Provide hardware support over the summer to design, test, and troubleshoot major network upgrades.
  • Other duties as assigned.
