POSITION OBJECTIVE:

 

The position of Technology Support Specialist I is for the purpose of providing tier 1

technology support to the Bellevue School District.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

  • Responsible for tier 1 technology support via email, phone, other electronic medium, and in person
  • Provides direct and indirect customer support for technology hardware and software through a tiered support model; to include staff, students and parents
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation and ticket closure in ticket tracking system
  • Create and maintain technology guides related to area of responsibility
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to and is supervised by Technology Support Manager 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

 

Required:

  • Three years of experience in use of computers, peripheral devices, Microsoft software and related/similar operating systems.
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Preferred:

  • A+ Certification

Allowable Substitutions:

  • Additional related experience may substitute for the educational requirements 

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

  • None

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):

  • Knowledge of computer systems, hardware and peripherals
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suites
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of general trouble-shooting techniques for software, hardware and network systems

  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills commensurate with the position
  • Ability to convey technical issues and materials to non-technical audience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

 

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, and push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

CTSA salary classification level 1 ($ 49,037 annual salary), 40 hours per week, for a 260-day annual assignment. Benefits include retirement, medical, dental, vacation, holidays, and other benefits according to Board policy.

 

Note:  Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed. The successful candidate for this position must be  fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon clearance by Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation
