The preferred candidate will have experience in independent schools or other academic settings.  Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Technology Support Specialist / Teacher will be a member of the IT/Computer department team.  In addition to teaching, the incumbent will assist with projects, such as integration of Chromebooks, iPads, and other devices.

This is a full-time, twelve-month position.  The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative and a commitment to excellence.  He/she will posses strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to assist teachers and staff who have a range of technical abilities.  Candidates for this position should have experience working with Good Apps for Education, Java, HTML, Python, Robotics, and Microsoft Office.

Primary duties include:

  • Assisting with the administration of the physical infrastructure of the school network, which consists of a fleet of approximately 350 computers, including desktops, laptops, Macs, iPads, Chromebooks, and servers

  • Teaching Technology classes in grades seven and eight

  • Providing help desk support for faculty and staff

  • Administering user accounts, Exchange 2010, VMWare, Veeam, and Filemaker Server

  • Assisting with the administration of Blackbaud's Education Edge and Raiser's Edge databases

  • Troubleshooting and resolving network problems

  • Participating in weekly IT department meetings

  • Leading and participating in technology training sessions

  • Providing A/V support

  • Other duties as assigned
