Minimum Requirements:
 
An Associate’s degree in Information Systems or closely related field is required.  One year of  experience with computer systems hardware, software, and networking is required.  One year of experience in an academic setting at the college level is preferred.  Must have strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with staff, students, and the public.  At least one year of experience supporting an IT helpdesk environment is required.  Must have intermediate knowledge and experience in local area networks, Windows Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office.  A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual are preferred.
 
Position Duties:
 
Duties include regular and frequent customer communication; participating in departmental documentation efforts; installing new computers; loading appropriate software; and setting up network printers and Audio Visual equipment for campus use.  The Technology Support Technician will resolve incoming requests for service and support from the service desk for a designated area of responsibility and will use technical expertise and understanding of business needs to evaluate and resolve IT incident and problem service desk tickets.  The Technician must have technical knowledge to help solve complex problems; be responsible for communication with customers on status of open requests; and will work closely with other areas of Information Technology as needed.  The Technology Support Technician is the face of IT and must provide excellent customer service to the College and the public.
