Sacred Heart Schools is seeking a Technology Systems and Services Coordinator to join its team of service-driven professionals committed to fully supporting the Schools’ mission and goals. The position’s initial areas of focus will be working closely with the Technology Systems Administrator to support all users. The position’s responsibilities will evolve as warranted by the candidate’s performance and the needs of the Schools. The Technology Systems and Services Coordinator role will report directly to the Director of Technology, while supporting technical stability, integrity, and consistency of the philosophy and Goals and Criteria of Heart Schools.

Founded in Chicago in 1876, Sacred Heart Schools at Sheridan Road (Hardey Preparatory for Boys and Academy of the Sacred Heart for Girls) are independent, Catholic, single-sex elementary schools committed to academic excellence within the context of a Christian, faith-based community. The educational mission is deeply rooted in the 200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart and shared with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools located in 30 countries; including 22 schools in the United States. The essence of this tradition is the total development of each child: spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. Our girls and boys are taught in single-sex classrooms, but follow a similar curriculum and share in many activities. With a total enrollment of approximately 700 students, the Schools are organized into three academic divisions each led by a division head.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages the Schools 1:1 program, including setup, distribution, collection and maintenance of devices
  • Assists Technology System Administrator to maintain and provide backup support for a secure network and infrastructure
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical end-user computer and peripheral device issues
  • Coordinates technology purchases

General Duties:

  • Manage the Schools 1:1 program
    • Provide setup and maintenance of all faculty and student devices through Mobile Device Management tools
    • Organize distribution and collection of devices to faculty and students with assistance from the Technology Support Associate
    • Coordinates the duties of the Technology Support Associate to provide a responsive technology support and hardware repair system
    • Maintains inventory control of all the hardware and licensed and supported software and apps
    • Create and enforce policies pertaining to the 1:1 devices and their use
  • Assists the Technology System Administrator
    • Maintain a secure Windows server/network environment including file/print/exchange servers, firewall, virus protection, backups, user login accounts and infrastructure
    • Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, key processes and infrastructure
    • Install, configure and troubleshoot network hardware, software and infrastructure including routers, switches, hubs, servers, cabling, wireless, printers, terminal connectivity and e-mail systems
    • Maintain sitemap, documenting network and domain configurations
    • Ensures all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media,
    • Implement technical technology-related directives, approved plans and hardware and software replacement, redistribution and upgrade programs
  • Provides technical support
  • Installs, configures and troubleshoots end-user technology hardware, software and network connectivity for classrooms, the Library, administrators’ offices, staff agencies and other school facilities in accordance with directives and approved plans and priorities
    • Protects the integrity of the student learning experience to the extent it is supported by technology hardware and software
    • Responds to end-user requests for technical assistance and repairs
    • Provides one-on-one instruction and answering “how-to” questions on the use of operating system and supported general-use productivity applications
    • Maintains inventory control of all the hardware and licensed and supported software and apps
    • Implements technical technology-related directives, approved plans and hardware and software replacement, redistribution and upgrade programs
  • Coordinates Technology purchases
    • Works with vendors to obtain best possible price for technology purchases, including maintenance, support and device insurance contracts
    • Organize the purchase/lease of 1:1 devices with outside vendors
    • Manage the purchase of apps for use on 1:1 devices, including volume purchases
  • Maintains an awareness of new technology products, trends and advances
    • Conducts in- service sessions for faculty instruction on technical skills as needed
    • Responsible for own professional growth and continuing education
    • Reviews, evaluates and recommends technology purchases that are in line with technology budget

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree
