Technology Teacher

Pinecrest Academy (Cumming, GA) is seeking positive, enthusiastic, and engaging applicants to fill the position of High School Technology Teacher beginning in the 2016-2017 academic year. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of high school or collegiate teaching experience in technology or a related field, and a BA in Computer Science, Technology Education, Engineering, or a similar field, with a Masters degree preferred. Ideal candidates will also hold a valid teaching certificate and be able to successfully teach Introduction to Engineering Design and Computer Science (both in the Project Lead the Way STEM program), Communications Foundations, and other elective Technology courses as needed.

This position includes teaching 5 classes a day, as well as mentoring additional clubs such as Robotics or Programming. Prior experience in engineering, computer science, project-based learning, and design work is desirable.  Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire students to innovate and create are essential. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic, with experience and willingness to coach a major sport, who embraces the mission and philosophy of Pinecrest Academy.
