St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s School is seeking an energetic and inspiring Technology Teacher and Integration Specialist for our expanding technology program. The preferred candidate will enthusiastically create and teach an exploratory curriculum to students in grades 2 - 8, where the most common phrase heard is “let’s try it!”

Our ideal candidate is someone comfortable creating curriculum, teaching and guiding classes in search of new discoveries, and igniting curiosity in students and faculty alike. They are someone who has a desire to engage and inspire children in dynamic and positive ways. This candidate will be motivated to help our students learn to use the right tools, for the right reasons, at the right time.

Someone equally at home experimenting with back-yard physics and the basics of computer science, who understands that “coding” is only one small part of what constitutes a complete computer science/technology education, and gets excited at the prospect of leading our own school skunk works lab.

Candidates should bring the following skills and mindsets

  • A strong desire to take things apart in pursuit of deeper understanding.

  • A deep seated passion for learning new systems and ways of working.

  • A love of teaching through doing, inspiring learners to experiment and test their ideas.

  • A deep curiosity about all sorts of technologies, from hammers through supercomputers, and a desire to bring it all into the classroom.

  • An understanding of “how” and “why” things work the way they do

  • Experience teaching concepts of computer science and programming in block-based and text-based languages.

  • Have a strong commitment to ongoing professional growth and development and see the inherent value in changing up habits for the sake of learning a new perspective.
