Mark Day School seeks a collaborative, innovative educator for the part­time role of educational technology teacher and integrator as a leave replacement from August 2019 ­ December 2019. Candidates should have a passion for teaching elementary and middle school students, experience designing technology­rich lessons and projects, and knowledge of a wide array of digital tools, including G Suite, Scratch, and Photoshop. The educational technology teacher and integrator reports to the director of educational design and innovation and works as a member of a team that supports and advances the school’s technology, media and innovation programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach weekly technology skills classes to 5th and 6th graders

  • Teach a twice­weekly technology elective class to 7th and 8th graders

  • Supervise a robotics club

  • Assist in providing technical support, technology coaching, and technology training to teachers

In spring 2018 the school completed a transformative campus project that includes renovation of the quad and amphitheater at the heart of the campus and the construction of a new Learning Commons, Digital Media Lab, and Creativity Lab. The new learning spaces are designed to support student­centered inquiry, hands­on discovery and tinkering, collaboration, and design thinking.
