The Technology Department at Foote fills a dual role, providing
both academic and technical support to the school. Foote has
120 adult and 470 student users requiring varied levels of support across multiple academic disciplines and administrative departments.

The Foote School Technology Teacher/Integrator works directly with students to support the use of appropriate educational technology tools. The position includes direct instruction for lower school student as well as support and training to help teachers integrate technology in their classrooms.

The position reports to the Director of Technology and the Head of Lower School. This is a full-time position that runs from August 13 through June 30.

The successful candidate will be a team player and a nurturing, flexible person who understands the developmental and cognitive needs of children. The candidate will have proven experience as a creative thinker and innovator in educational technology. The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and peers as well as employ a variety of instructional techniques to engage young learners is essential.

All members of our faculty are expected to be involved in the Foote School community through participation in school-wide committees and activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand, support and integrate multiple operating systems and the use of various technology tools, including:
    • Google Apps for Education - iPads
    • Apple Laptops
    • Smart Boards
    • Chromebooks
  • Work with teachers in grades Kindergarten through six to research, recommend, and implement new technologies into the curriculum and to support them in and out of the classroom with:

    - Instruction
    - Differentiation
    - Assessment
    - 21st Century Thinking 
Skills

  • Develop and plan innovative lessons for technology classes taught in the lab (grades 3-6) and within the classroom (grades K-2).

  • Develop and teach STEAM program for 3rd grade students using the following tools:

    • Lego Mindstorms - Sphero
    • WeDo
    • Makerspace
  • Enrich and support teaching and learning while strengthening the technology skills of students, teachers and staff.

Communicate with members of the Foote Technology Department in finding collaborative solutions for instructional needs.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree and/or advanced coursework in educational technology is preferred. Three years teaching experience is required.
