Technology/STEAM Teacher Maternity-Leave Replacement September 2015 - February 2016

The Village Community School (www.vcsnyc.org) is seeking a Technology/STEAM Teacher as a maternity-leave replacement from September–February.

Candidate will teach Technology and STEAM classes in our Lower and Middle Schools (2nd-7th grade). Classes will be taught in our Mac-based lab. The Technology and STEAM curriculum has a focus on technology concepts and operations, coding, design and making and may include topics such as computer literacy, Digital Citizenship, computer graphics, Internet research, video, desktop publishing, coding, 3D printing projects, etc. We are looking for a candidate who will cultivate a classroom environment that prepares students to identify, understand, and work collaboratively to solve challenges through the design process. There is a focus on those activities that allow students to engage in real world problems and experiences through project-based, hands-on learning activities.

Candidates should have a degree in education or related academic discipline.
