The Blake School seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Instructional Technology Coach and Student Innovation Mentor for the 2021-22 school year. This unique position requires an educator with a deep knowledge of design, digital media and creative problem-solving. Candidates must have a passion for igniting student curiosity and inspiring teachers to move outside of their comfort zones.

This position encompasses many roles-mentor, project planner, software guru and teacher-leader — promoting a growth mindset with teachers and students. A primary focus will be increasing teachers’ fluency with educational technologies to advance Blake’s mission. The Instructional Technology Coach supports the professional growth of teachers primarily through coaching, one-on-one and small group professional learning, and co-teaching lessons or projects with significant technology needs. The Student Innovation Mentor works with the Upper School library and technology staff to support students as they grow their technology and design skills. This position is instrumental in creating a community space for exploration and connection, as well as growing the capacity for a makerspace at the division. This role will also serve as the Yearbook Teacher, mentoring a group of students through the creation of the annual book for the school. Duties also include resolving technology issues for the Blake community, assisting in establishing a makerspace and supporting audio and video resources.

Interested candidates can also apply to be the coach of Blake’s robotics team, an opportunity for substantial additional compensation.

This is dynamic, multifaceted work and interested candidates should be innovative educators, strong collaborators, nimble thinkers and excellent communicators. We believe that a culturally rich and inclusive school community provides students with the best possible environment for quality education.

Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes a community strong and empowers students to engage across differences.

Application review will begin immediately. Blake will typically cover the travel and lodging costs for finalist candidates visiting from out of town.
