Friends School of Baltimore seeks a Librarian and Technology Integrator to join the Library & Information Services Department. The ideal candidate should have a clear vision of 21st century education and the role that information literacy can play in that vision, particularly at the upper school level. A strong technical skill set in these areas should be matched by someone with even stronger collaborative skills. As a member of the Friends School faculty, the librarians and technology integrator will have the right mixture of initiative and follow-through, leadership, collegiality, tech savvy and interpersonal skills to be an integral part of school life for students and faculty.

Major responsibilities of this position include:

· Work to acculturate the use of literature and technology within the practice of teaching and learning in age appropriate ways
· Inspire a life-long interest in reading for personal growth, fulfillment, and learning

· Develop and maintain a collection of materials in various formats to meet the needs of community and curriculum

· Curate dynamic spaces that further the program goals through events, collections, materials, and activities.

· Manage physical, human and financial resources as related to the library program.Work with the Director of LIS in the development and continued evolution of a scope and sequence for technological and information skills

· Provide professional development in the areas of information literacy, technology integration, and research for faculty in groups and individually. This includes training and support by partnering with faculty, direct classroom instruction, and outside of classroom in groups or individually

· Ensure that technological, research and information skills are being taught in alignment with the scope and sequence developed by the department

· Create clear understandings among faculty/staff/administrators regarding the services provided by the Library and Information Services department.

· Provide leadership in the implementation of any new technology or research initiatives (divisional or school-wide) and work with members of the LIS department to provide professional development for faculty and staff

· Provide technical support to Upper School students and faculty in a 1:1 iPad environment as needed

· Assist in the management of online learning resources (e.g. GAFE and the Blackbaud K-12 student information system)

· Lead and participate in the ongoing philosophical and strategic conversations regarding technology, literature, research and information literacy at Friends School

· Work with the Director of LIS and the division principals to develop and achieve annual strategic goals

· Perform other duties as assigned.
