The Steward School seeks an experienced technology teacher to collaborate with and support the expanding integration of technology in the classroom. Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Commitment to the mission and philosophy of the school
  • Teaching digital citizenship, productivity applications, making and programming to ninth-grade students
  • Provides first-level technology support to teachers and students
  • Pursue departmental and school goals in coordination with technology department, K-12 curriculum chairs, and fellow department members
  • Mentors and models effective integration of technology into curriculum to reinforce skills through lesson planning, one-to-one training, and team teaching in academic and special courses
  • Plans and teaches training sessions for faculty (professional development days, during lunch, and after school)
  • Explores and implements web-based and technology tools for student projects and collaboration
  • Extracurricular sponsorships of technology-related clubs (robotics, makerspace, etc.)
  • Full participation in the life of the school which may require occasional nights and weekends

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate work
  • 3 or more years classroom experience
  • Broad ICT Literacy—current or actively pursuing certification in at least one skill (SmartBoard, IC3, Google, IT PostBacc and/or Microsoft)

Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Strong communication, collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Successful candidate should be fluent in the following coding languages: Scratch, Arduino, and Python
  • Familiarity with Makey Makeys, Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, Hummingbirds, and robotics is preferred
