Opening in Fall 2016, The Center for Animation, Video and Entertainment (the CAVE) will provide students with a space to explore how the fusion of design and technology can prepare them to creatively share their passions and confidently tell their own stories. The teacher will teach a full load of video/animation/digital media classes, manage the CAVE, and oversee an after-school program as well.

Specific Responsibilities:

Full teaching load including courses during the day and in our Afternoon Enrichment program. Classes could include: Introduction to Videography, Documentary Filmmaking and Afternoon Film Studio.
Collaborate with Visual and Performing Arts department
Manage studio during school day and after hours.
Supervise and oversee the appropriate use of video equipment and lab space.
Work jointly with Academic Dean to create video courses.
Manage the selection of instructional materials, technology and equipment.
Willing to work with both students and teachers on integrating media into the school day.
Responsible for evaluating student work and guiding them toward meaningful projects.
Keep up to date with current trends, tools and best practices relating to digital storytelling and multimedia projects.

Education and Experience:

Broad academic background including a degree in media/film, communications, or related field.
Preferred 3-5 years experience in field of study.
Experience with teaching or working with young adults and/or high school aged students.

Required Skills:

Demonstrated skills with video, film and media
Should have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, as well as similar editing and design programs.
Demonstrated skills to manage the technology in the Cave
Ability to work with students on how to properly use the equipment.
Knowledge of current camera and audio equipment as well as editing programs.
Experience as a successful project manager and ability to organize, prioritize and manage time.
Strong interpersonal skills evidenced by the ability to work cooperatively and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students.
Digital Animation and Graphic Design skills are a plus
