Overall Responsiblity:
Full-time web developer capable of supporting legacy ColdFusion/Microsoft SQL systems (i.e. this website and intranet) and developing new systems/features.
General Description:

Seeking a talented web developer, ideally with experience programming dynamic, modern web applications. Knowledge of SQL or relational databases and demonstrated use of dynamic web languages (like ColdFusion, JSP, PHP, or Python, RoR, NodeJS) strongly recommended. Strong design skills helpful, but not required.

Candidates showing strong software engineering aptitude will be considered based on merits, regardless of previous language experience.

Applicant must be available to work on site in Owings Mills, MD a majority of the time, but may work remotely at times.

Development environment consists of ColdFusion, Microsoft SQL server, HTML5, JavaScript. Primary responsibilities include making modifications to legacy systems, working with clients to construct new modules to existing systems, creating new systems to support a private PK-12 educational institution.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences
  • Experience with dynamic web applications
Ideal Candidates Possess:
  • Experience with ColdFusion or similar language
  • Database design experience
  • Knowledge of modern practices (e.g. AJAX, HTML5, MVC)
  • An healthy collection of IFTT/Pushbullet subscriptions or a permanent Reddit/HackerNews tab or IRC window
  • The ability to learn quickly
  • The desire to help colleagues outside the job description
