digital communications support the school's overall strategies. This position will oversee the digital communications for the school including the school web site, social media, and email communications. The web content manager works in tandem with the director of marketing and public relations and the assistant director of marketing and public relations to manage the school's online presence and proactively maintain favorable relations with Saint Mary's Hall's internal and external audiences.

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Proactively maintain favorable relations with Saint Mary's Hall's internal and external audiences including: alumni, parents, faculty, staff, the community, and the media.
  • Manage the school's web site (www.smhall.org) and Portal to include site maintenance, tracking and reporting web site metrics, search engine optimization, and the execution of end of year procedures.
  • Manage and execute the branding and communications strategies for the school using the following digital communications: the school web site, digital signage, social media channels, external partner web sites, and the school's Livestream account.
  • Manage the SMH Portal (private side of the web site) including calendar events, documents, and announcements.
  • Manage the school's social media channels, create content for these channels, and maintain and report social media metrics.
  • Partner with the director of marketing and public relations and the assistant director of marketing and public relations on the creation of the school's weekly electronic newsletter, News from the Hall , the quarterly alumni newsletter, Nota Bene, and other electronic communications.
  • Work collaboratively with all school divisions and departments to ensure accurate digital content that supports school branding and communication strategies.
  • Work with the Technology Department and Finalsite (our web site provider) to troubleshoot and maintain data integrations with the web site.
  • Research best practices, emerging web development strategies, and external resources which may enhance the school's online presence (including search engine optimization).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic or digital design, communications, technical writing, English, or a closely-related field directly related to web site development.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience and proven track record in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of electronic communication techniques and strategies to include web site content management, email communications, and social media management.
  • Proficient knowledge of web applications, content management systems, collaborative software, and web-based databases.
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques and strategies to include branding.
  • Copywriting and editing experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and organizational skills.
  • Design experience using graphics software packages and desktop publishing.
  • Experience in photography, photo editing, and video production a plus.

  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and irregular hours as needed.

Physical Abilities:

  • Works in a high pace environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contracts
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally bend, stoop and squat
  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs.
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate controlled environment
  • Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
