Boston College High School is seeking a strategic and creative Web Content Manager. This position reports to the Director of Technology and is a full-time, 12 month position.
 
The Web Content Manager will maintain and create content for the BC High website as well as other electronic communication materials delivered via our Content Management System (CMS) and other digital communication systems. The Web Content Manager oversees content of the official, top level pages of the BC High website and provides support and guidance to departments and offices on their web presence. The Web Content Manager will work directly with the Director of Marketing and Communication to ensure all areas of the website are accurate and up to date. Content will include news stories, campus calendars, athletics information, graphics, data forms, social media, etc. Other responsibilities will include the following:
 
  • Collaborating with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop effective strategies for communication through the website
  • Researching and writing original material; editing existing material, including reworking content developed for other BC High communications in a way that makes it effective for electronic media
  • Assisting a variety of content providers and departments for the purpose of updating, enhancing and/or modifying information on the BC High website
  • Renewing content on the web as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information presented. Specific activities include:
    • Providing final approval in the work flow for new web pages
    • Assisting content providers among the faculty and staff in writing and editing content to achieve maximum usability and to maintain brand consistency
    • Utilizing current best practices for search engine optimization
    • Producing photographic and video content for the website and in-house displays
    • Integrating social media in delivery of web content
    • Using Google Analytics to review statistics and monitor data pertaining to web traffic and page visits
 
The ideal candidate will have bachelor’s degree with two to three years of experience in website design, copy editing, graphic design, and content management. Candidates must possess excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills. They will have a keen eye for detail, exacting working standards, and a proactive approach to online content creation. Proficiency with social media, video editing, HTML coding, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Design suite is required.
