The Web Content Specialist at San Francisco Unified School District will help lead our work transforming our web presence. We are rolling out new usability guidelines, look and feel, and content management tools, and as the Web Content Specialist you will work closely with all of our stakeholders to ensure their success.

You will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance about online content for SFUSD, with a focus on SFUSD schools. We want someone who can create compelling content for online media and is comfortable both working with website content management systems and assisting others with their website content. You will work closely with our schools to develop their websites in our new content management system to ensure that information for our families is universally accessible, mobile friendly, easy to use, and available in multiple languages. By doing this, you will contribute to our equity-driven mission by ensuring that schools with varying levels of technical expertise and resources have a compelling online presence.

You will also lead the training of all website content owners in the new content management system and work with a team to assist content owners with questions and to guide the further development of the new content management system and the website. 

Minimum Qualifications:

A total of three years (6,000 paid hours) of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education. 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Ability to speak, read or write Cantonese or Spanish

  • Experience with Drupal 8

  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS

  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and WCAG
