Webmaster 

 
Purpose

As a Sacred Heart educator, the primary purpose of the Webmaster is to support and promote the school's mission by maintaining a public web presence for Convent & Stuart Hall that is a useful tool in engaging and informing various audiences. The Webmaster ensures the site's associated pages and structures are accurate, easy to navigate, and a creative presentation of content.

 
Duties/Responsibilities
 
I. Website Management
 
A. Manage the day-to-day operations of the website and web applications, including the content management system (CMS) and any additional web development tools/resources. Debug issues that arise with performance of the site.
 
B. Serve as liaison with website provider on performance issues and service requests.
 
C. Ensure content, links, navigation, photo galleries, calendars and forms are fully functional and provide an intuitive, rich online experience; work closely with the Communications Director to ensure content represents and promotes the school in a positive, accurate and engaging manner.
 
D. Assess workflows across the system with web contributors; monitor their content development and updates for accuracy and standards compliance. Advise changes or additions to the sitemap and navigation.
 
E. Create and edit images and graphics as necessary.
 
F. Maintaining storage of archival pages and documentation as appropriate.

 

 
II. Community Engagement
 
A. Respond to a variety of inquiries to assist in the use and expansion of web-related applications.
 
B. Manage user access to all site pages and applications.
 
C. Provide monthly/quarterly analysis of the website's overall performance and provide recommendations based on these findings.
D. Plan, implement and maintain a creative calendar system that serves many purposes and constituency groups, both internal and external.

 

 
Qualifications/Experience
 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, with 3-5 years relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS, particularly Silverpoint/FinalSite, as well as HTML, CSS, and image editing.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PHP and JavaScript; familiarity with SQL, creating queries, and databases.
  • The ability to teach software and web concepts to users of varying degrees of skill and interest.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate fashion in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized; willing to take initiative and learn new programs.
  • Able to manage projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
Service Period

 

  • This is a 12 month position.
