The Website Coordinator, a member of the Office of Advancement reporting to the Director of Communications, is responsible for the direction and maintenance of the School website. The Website Coordinator will effectively analyze, organize, and integrate technical and marketing information into intuitive, technologically innovative online platforms.

The Website Coordinator will manage the Village School website using a content management system and focus on the following primary functions:

  • Develop online initiatives that support internal and external communications strategies (admission, branding, marketing, advancement, technological innovation, and internal stakeholder relations)
  • Create and incorporate emerging technologies, engaging content, design, navigation, interface, and enhanced functionality of the website
  • Develop and implement search engine optimization strategies
  • Provide daily management of the Village School website including updating “featured news” stories, homepage images, secondary page content, and insuring content across the site is accurate and updated in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that all web content is accurate, current, and compelling; engage in continual posting, uploading, and maintenance of content including news stories, photos, video, and announcements
  • Actively communicate with key School divisions and departments whose content drive major portions of the website including: Admission, Advancement, Head of School, Director of Academic Technology, Director of Information Technology, and Director of Studies
  • Monitor and contribute to Village School’s social media sites and integrate efforts across all online platforms
  • Manage connections between social media sites (e.g. post news from the website to facebook which connects to twitter)
  • Regularly review website analytics and gather ongoing feedback from administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni, to continually build ease of website use and increased traffic
  • Liaise with content management service provider to coordinate design changes, service upgrades, troubleshooting and modifications to Village School services
  • Maintain services in portals for parents, students, staff, and faculty in collaboration with Academic Technology, Information Technology, Admission, Academics, and Human Resources departments
  • Assist in the development and distribution of the online parent weekly update and continually explore ways to improve and streamline communication

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, design, analytical, collaborative, and strategic skills
  • Working knowledge of communications best practices and trends in (independent school) education
  • Demonstrated experience working strategically with social media and using appropriate tools and metrics to measure effectiveness
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with web design and content
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Experience with Finalsite is an asset
  • Photography and videography skills are a plus
