Bullis School, a coeducational college preparatory day school for grades K through 12 in Potomac, Maryland, seeks an experienced Website Manager who will contribute expertise and innovation to our advancement team. This is a part-time position at about 8 hours per week.

The Website Manager is responsible maintaining and creating content for Bullis School’s website, with responsibilities for technological aspects as well as site content. Additional responsibilities include ongoing web strategy and overseeing website operation with particular attention to design, content and site maintenance. The Website Manager updates website content including information, images, schedules and other content according to the changing needs of the School, and works with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and the Communications Director, as well as website designers and providers, to plan, maintain and improve online presence, initiating new ways to enhance and develop the School’s website presence. This is primarily a telecommuting position with assistance/attendance at meetings and events as needed. 

Specific duties include: 

  • Maintaining, updating and overseeing website operation and content
  • Acting as liaison between the school and its IT partner, Finalsite
  • Keeping informed and up-to-date on website technology 
  • Attending workshops and webinars provided by Finalsite as necessary
  • Working knowledge of HTML, word processing, spreadsheets, and other programs necessary to the school’s site 
  • Updating information on the website annually, weekly and sometimes daily
  • Troubleshooting website problems
  • Assisting with reviews of site statistics and analytics

This position also supports other Advancement Office projects.

Skills/Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience in website technology, development and maintenance, preferably in an educational setting. Proficiency in website design and maintenance of daily and larger projects is important, along with an understanding of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, etc. Expertise in design, graphics and layout related to websites, as well as skills in writing and communication are also important. Photography skills are a plus. Qualified candidates will also be adept at social media platforms and online content management systems such as Finalsite.
