Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Website Manager with strong organizational and communication skills. The website manager takes the lead on proactively managing, maintaining, and improving the appearance and functionality of all facets of the site to provide a valuable digital resource for both site owners and visitors. The website manager ensures the website adheres to SEO best practices and regularly reports on traffic and performance. The website manager will work with others to provide support on email communications, social media management, content production, and online advertising. The website manager is a member of the Marketing & Communications Office. Available and willing to work some evenings and weekends to help produce and document school events in coordination with external relations team, address any website security breaches, and monitor social media accounts.

Primary goals:

  • Proactively ensure website content is accurate and current.

  • Actively and regularly seek input from other departments regarding the content and accuracy of the website.

  • Help translate HPA’s communications goals through website and social media channels spaces. Manage Facebook & Twitter specifically.

  • Develop and execute a plan for ongoing audit of website content and functionality for quality assurance.

  • Work with school families and others with any login or other access issues.  

  • Ensure the efficiency and integrity of the website’s databases as well as the interconnection of the website to other school databases.

  • Use Google Analytics data to make strategic recommendations on website improvements and changes in advertising and SEO tactics to better meet HPA’s marketing & communications goals.

  • Keep up with technology advancements and digital communications trends that could bring improved effectiveness to our digital presence.

  • Play a vital role in the upcoming website redesign including advising on best tools, structure, user experience design concepts, content, etc.

  • Create email marketing communications using Hubspot and email marketing tools. Work with HPA internal stakeholders to gather content.

  • Integrate multiple third party tools and/or their data into website.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in website manager role or similar responsibilities.

  • Experience updating a CMS based website. LMS experience a plus.

  • Familiarity with or interest in learning Google Analytics and Hubspot.

  • Experience using third party email marketing platforms.

  • Fluent with the social media landscape.

  • Experience managing data sets with spreadsheets and third party tools.

  • Ability to write succinct marketing messaging for social and website.

  • Rudimentary understanding of HTML or CSS. Adobe Suite and Google Suite a plus. Academics or nonprofit fundraising experience a plus.
