The Senior Technical Support Specialist will provide technical support to students, faculty and staff in the Klein College and the School of Theater, Film and Media Arts (TFMA).

This position will provide technical and end user support for all aspects of Information Technology deployed across Klein and TFMA. The individual must be highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on defined projects.

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal collaboration and support skills and have moderate supervisory experience. (This role will coordinate and manage student workers.)

This support position covers a wide-range of technology hardware and applications including mobile devices, office/lab/classroom/studio computers and peripherals, smart classroom media, and other AV/digital equipment. This position is expected to provide superior customer services for technology support and services related to special events, equipment/software inventory.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of related technical experience. Experience supporting advanced AV integrated facilities (including but not limited to classrooms, TV studios, digital signage, etc). Significant direct IT customer support experience. Microsoft Active Directory Management experience. Advanced printer and peripheral support experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Supervisory skills for management of student workers.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform Mac & PC support and system image deployment.

  • Outstanding customer service and telephone skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to offer innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting graphics and media applications including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier and Apple Final Cut, etc.

  • Experience in a higher education environment and software/applications.
