Job Summary

The successful candidate for this position will design, develop, code, test, implement and maintain school web-based information systems and mobile applications. This position analyzes requirements, designs and develops databases and websites that automate specific business processes as well as builds websites using various internet and scripting languages to create and securely maintain data-driven websites and research visualizations at the School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B). The development of data-driven websites and apps involves securely transferring data into the school from the university enterprise systems as well as data from web forms, survey data, SPH-B internally –developed databases and third party systems. This position collaborates with SPH-B clients and other IT Professionals to analyze, develop, review and maintain secure databases and data sources used for analysis and display of administrative and research data.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED: Bachelor Degree in computer science, informatics or related field and two years of experience in Information Technology field working as a software analyst or engineer, programmer or data analyst.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

PHP and other web programming languages, relational database structure and design, working knowledge of securely interfacing with relational database management systems, esp. MS SQL. Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft business intelligence tools as well as programming experience for web.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to program mobile applications.
