Dominican University of California is seeking an individual for an Administrative Technology Manager position. Under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Finance and Administration, the Administrative Technology Manager will oversee the Administrative Technology Office, leading a variety of duties associated with supporting functional users of various administrative software systems. This position will lead the overall planning and strategic vision in the support and implementation of technology systems in Human Resources and Financial Services. The incumbent will be responsible for working with functional end users to ensure that their needs are being addressed. 

Responsibilities

  • Manages the support of the software functionality for campus systems such as PowerCampus, Workday, Great Plains, Forecaster, and Slate

  • Directs a team of two Support Specialists and collaborates with a variety of users including but not limited to functional users, supervisors, and vendors

  • Interfaces directly with Information Technology Services and liaises with functional users in troubleshooting various problems and identifying solutions

  • Directly communicates with the functional users in identifying the issues at hand and must be able to isolate the problem type and to facilitate resolution for the client

  • Train faculty and Staff on campus software

  • Tracks and documents problems as well as solutions, ensuring that these problems are not only brought to closure, but training and preventing similar issues in the future

  • Provides guidance and leadership in system upgrade projects and technical administration

  • Able to work with a variety of constituents on the campus in developing specifications for report writing, and any other special needs that end users may have by assisting them to do their jobs more efficiently. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • 5 years experience troubleshooting hardware, software or networking issues

  • 5 years experience providing customer support for a diverse group of constituents

  • Experience supervising and managing employees

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Able to communicate on both a functional and technical level (both written and oral)

  • Have knowledge and be up-to-date on the latest technology

  • General experience with a variety of applications

  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite (emphasis on Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

  • Have knowledge of and understand business practices, policies and procedures

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Related technical certifications

  • Experience working in an institution of higher education

  • Knowledge and background in PowerCampus, GreatPlains, Forecaster, and Workday
