Technology Coordinator
Mercy High School is seeking a tech-savvy candidate to serve as the school’s Technology Coordinator. The successful applicant will install, configure, deploy, troubleshoot, maintain, and integrate the various cross-platform computing elements – software, hardware, classroom technology, printers, audio-visual and communications equipment, and more – throughout the Mercy campus and in our virtual classrooms. The successful candidate will also enthusiastically embrace the mission and values of Mercy, rooted in the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy. Candidates should have prior experience with young people in an academic or coaching setting. The successful candidate will be cognizant of the special role that all school personnel have in the spiritual and religious development of youth, will model critical inquiry and lifelong learning, and demonstrate integrity and fairness in all aspects of community life.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the help desk and responding to requests for support
- Maintaining and troubleshooting hardware such as computers, projectors, cameras, printers
- Training faculty and students to utilize technology resources
- Collaborating with vendors to complete installations, service calls, and special projects
- Coordinate A/V equipment needed for events and facilitate their operation
- Engaging in the life of the school, attending meetings, and supporting the leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve service issues in a timely and systematic manner using industry-standard best practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while working independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical people
- Comfortably work with maker space equipment and other resources for engineering education; able to teach others how to safely use these tools and supervise/support student use
Additional Requirements:
- Available 7:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. plus flexible to work evening/Saturday hours (approximately 4 per year)
- Subject to a fingerprint criminal background check prior to employment
- Subject to a MSDE Employment History Review screening for Child Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct
Work Environment:
- All faculty may be asked to perform their work duties at home (in the event of remote learning) and/or on campus. In both settings, this role is required to maintain a professional, shared work environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, all faculty are regularly required to talk and hear. This position, while primarily desk, office, and classroom-based, is at times active. It requires both sitting and standing for prolonged periods, and at times walking, including stairs, and the occasional moving/rearranging of items.
Annual salary is $45,000 to $65,000 based upon degrees and experience. Candidates with additional experience, qualifications, or ability to take on additional duties may be offered a salary outside of the range shown. A comprehensive benefits package includes tuition remission at Mercy High School for dependent daughters and at Loyola University Maryland for employees and their dependents, all contingent upon years of full-time service.
