Areas of Responsibility
As our School Technology Coordinator, you'll be the go-to technical expert, ensuring all our school's technology runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining our technological infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and advising leadership on future tech needs and innovative technology solutions in and beyond the classroom. Your work will directly impact student learning and staff productivity to shape the learners of the future.
What You'll Do
- Provide Exceptional Support:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and students by acting as the primary technical point of contact for all technology-related issues
- Proactively communicate and set expectations with staff and leadership about solutions to technical issues
- Maintain clear and thorough documentation of all service requests and issue resolutions
- Manage & Maintain Technology:
- Configure, assess, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of school technology equipment, including computers, laptops, smart screens, digital whiteboards, projectors, printers, peripherals, webcams, microphones, and scanners
- Lead the creation, validation, testing, and management of student and staff device configurations
- Administer applications (e.g., Google Workspace) for student and staff accounts and devices
- Support implementation of learning management systems and student information systems
- Facilitate professional development sessions on educational technology tools
- Network Management and Security:

- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer networks, servers, and wireless systems
- Ensure network security through firewall management, content filtering, and access controls
- Manage the School’s emergency response systems
- Coordinate with internet service and phone providers
- Data Management and Data Security:
- Implement and monitor data backup and recovery procedures
- Ensure information system and software applications’ compliance with student privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA) and school policies
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across all systems
- Coordinate cybersecurity awareness training for staff and students
- Vendor & Inventory Management:
- Act as the main point of contact for various hardware and software vendors to ensure optimal device support and maintenance
- Assist in developing annual technology budgets and equipment replacement schedules
- Manage life cycle and procurement of all school technology equipment, coordinate and complete device deployment, moves, and modifications
- Track technology inventory and coordinate equipment disposal
- Project Management:
- Plan and execute technology upgrade projects and system implementations
- Coordinate technology aspects of new construction or renovation projects
- Manage summer technology refresh and maintenance activities
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Collaboration & Improvement:
- Collaborate with school leadership to design and implement system improvements that enhance school site technology
- Advise School Leadership on assessing and purchasing hardware to align with Bullis standards and future needs
- Work closely with the infrastructure team/contractor to resolve network issues and test enhancements
- Professional Growth:
- Continuously update technical skills, stay current with cutting-edge school technologies, and engage in professional development
- Actively participate in team discussions, training, events, and feedback sessions
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (required)
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role (required)
- Three or more years of relevant work experience (required), ideally in a school environment (preferred)
- Experience with network administration and system maintenance (required)
- Device repair and maintenance skills:
- Apple device troubleshooting and repair (MacBooks, iPads, iMacs)
- Chromebook repair and fleet management
- Hardware diagnostics and component replacement
- Mobile device management (MDM) systems
