Beaver Country Day School is an independent day school serving 460 students in grades 6-12, and located in Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston. Founded in 1920, we strive to expand the nature of school, propelled by our progressive roots, innovative educational philosophy, and student-centered approach. Our location and philosophy allow us extraordinary opportunities to broaden the students’ learning through experiences all over the greater Boston area. We combine rigorous academics with real-world application, focusing on teaching not just content, but also on how to put it to use effectively. The school fosters a joyful environment where risk-taking and authenticity are encouraged, where everyone—students and adults alike—feels a sense of belonging, and where teachers have the freedom to innovate and grow alongside their students.

Beaver Country Day School seeks an IT Technician in a full-time, 12-month role that will report directly to the Director of Technology and provide support and maintenance of Audio/Visual and Information Technology equipment at the school. Hours may vary to accommodate special events, and may include occasional weekend work, as well as some evening or early morning shifts, depending on school events.

  • Create, update, and monitor technical support tickets

  • Install and configure hardware and software with a focus on usability and security

  • Help maintain the wired/wireless network

  • Help write end-user documentation and provide training

  • Act as lead technical support for the Beaver Summer Camp

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and pivot when necessary

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

Other Attributes:

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment that (at times?) requires patience and the capacity to multitask and triage competing priorities

  • Ability to support MacOS, Windows, iOS, and WiFi networking

  • Enthusiastic about working in a school environment with both students and teachers (from grades 6-12)
