IT Manager
Job Summary
Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD seeks an experienced and proactive IT Manager for the Business Enablement team. Under the direction of the IT Director, this critical position oversees the PeopleSoft development team, serves as the technical lead for projects, and leads design discussions.
As our technical architect and team captain, you will oversee the full lifecycle of production support, development, upgrades, and cutting-edge enhancements across our robust Oracle and PeopleSoft ecosystem (Campus Solutions, HCM, FMS), and Oracle SaaS EPM.
This role frequently engages with functional and technical teams to develop new functionality to meet business requirements and enhance existing customizations and applications. In addition to showcasing exceptional technical abilities and experience with PeopleSoft PeopleTools, the person in this role enjoys sharing their knowledge and mentoring.
Essential Functions
30% - Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff; identifies training needs and opportunities; supports professional growth activities and encourages team members to use MCCCD funds to seek out external trainings/conferences; mentors junior developers
20% - Oversees the day-to-day development and support functions of Maricopa’s ERP; understands PeopleSoft technical architecture, technical tools, experience with coding, APIs, and strategies, while collaborating with functional and development teams for implementation of PeopleSoft ERP’s integrated systems
20% - Technical lead/solutions architect for PeopleSoft Integrated solutions across pillars, PeopleTools upgrades, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) hardware and software upgrades, and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) updates
15% - Lead projects related to PeopleSoft applications and integrations with external vendors; acts as the project’s primary point of contact for technical or development work
10% - Researches and implements industry best practices, standards, trends, and emerging technologies
5% - Attends division, department, and customer meetings as appropriate, performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or directly related field and five (5) years of professional experience in area related to assignment, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications

Experience leading and managing large-scale implementation, upgrade, and/or integration projects in a PeopleSoft environment or SaaS Cloud applications
- Experience using the PeopleSoft Application Designer toolset (App Engine, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Component Interface, People Code, Page/Component, Web Services, and COBOL)
- Experience using one or more of the following: PeopleSoft Integration Broker, developing REST/SOAP web services, PeopleSoft Security, and PeopleSoft Fluid Development
- Experience providing production support for PeopleSoft applications (CS/HCM/FMS); preferably in higher education
- Experience supervising/managing resources, products, and vendor relationships
- Experience with PeopleSoft administration and PeopleSoft Pure Internet Architecture (PIA)
- Experience with Oracle databases, including SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning
- One year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years
Special Working Conditions
There is a mandatory minimum in-office expectation
The selected candidate will need to reside in the Phoenix area or relocate within an agreed upon timeframe
This role may involve after hours work and non-regular business hours
May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor
May be required to present in large meetings and sponsored events
