Located in Wilmington, NC, Cape Fear Academy is southeastern North Carolina’s premier PK3-12 independent school.  A learning community of 600 students and 75 faculty and staff members, CFA is guided by the mission of discovering and developing individual potential. Systems Administrator

Major Responsibilities:

  • Administers wired and wireless network hardware and software including Windows Active Directory, DNS and Domain controllers, and VMWare environment
  • Assists with administering email and document collaboration in a google apps environment
  • Administers VMware and physical server environment
  • Oversees and verifies data backup and recovery procedures
  • Provides support to organizations users supporting Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac, and Chromebook operating systems
  • Troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, network equipment and infrastructure
  • Helps to maintain equipment inventory
  • Creates and deploys software package updates
  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of VMware and Windows servers.
  • Knowledge of Windows networking environment infrastructure and configuration including Active Directory, domain controllers, group policy, DHCP, DNS, firewall configuration, and wireless access point management.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting and repair.

 

Education:                 Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology field

Experience:               Two -five years’ experience as a network administrator in an educational environment or medium to large business.
